It is our pleasure to introduce Paul Willetts, the owner and operator of KIAMA SCENIC TOURS. Paul was born in 1951 in Sydney and grew up on the Central Coast of NSW. He married Phyl Wylie and moved to Wagga Wagga NSW in 1979.

Paul is a Panel Beater by trade and worked for many years in that trade. In addition Paul spent 12 years in the RAAF, based in Amberley in QLD and at Richmond NSW before resigning to focus on his new business in the craft industry with his wife Phyl.

After foreseeing a downturn in the craft industries, Paul and Phyl moved onto less stressful undertakings with Paul working for some of Sydney’s leading coach companies. Here he hosted tours all over NSW and Sydney visiting all the major attractions.Paul and Phyl have 3 grown up children, one girl and two boys; Bobby, Louise and Sam. The youngest, Samuel works fulltime with Kiama Scenic Tours as the Operations Manager. Sam married a local nurse and resides in Gerringong.

In 2002 Paul and Phyl moved to Kiama on the south coast of NSW, where together they took over the management of Kiama Cove Motel. It was here in 2004 that saw the birth of Kiama Scenic Tours. To increase occupancy rates in the lower tourist seasons and mid-week Paul specialized in the unique combination of door to door pickups, tours of the local area and its surrounds, dinners at local award winning local restaurants and personalized service second to none. This has proven to be very popular, with a price that can’t be beaten. Seeing many guests return time and time again to discover a new unique friendly and professional experience with standards of the highest quality.

In 2007 Kiama Scenic Tours won the Illawarra Tourism Award for Tour and Transport Operators. Over the years Kiama Scenic Tours has grown into a respectable award winning local business, with Paul being a well known character in Kiama. He is involved in many new developments and organisation such as the Kiama and District Chamber of Commerce, Kiama Tourism and The Kiama Lions Club.

Kiama Scenic Tours are now embarking on tours of the far south coast of NSW with 5 and 6 night getaways, tours of the Hunter Valley and the highlands of Victoria. If successful, who knows where Paul will want to go next.

During summer Paul and his drivers host Local Day Tours of Kiama and surrounding areas with commentary and history of the local area, visits to historic Berry and the Berry Treat Factory, Gerringong the home of some of Australia’s greatest sporting legends, Seven Mile Beach to watch the breakers then up to Saddleback Mountain to take in panoramic views of the Illawarra.
